D-MAX X-Terrain: The Works

Meet the new 2024 Isuzu D-MAX X-Terrain ute, the top dog of the range. The X-Terrain exterior comes decked out with side steps, a sports blade and a greyéd out body kit, because why not? And don't worry, it still comes with Isuzu's legendary 3-litre turbo diesel engine, loved by Good Bastards across New Zealand for its durability and grit.

She's more than just a pretty face, though. The X-Terrain comes with all the extra bells and whistles you could want: Adaptive Cruise Control, tailgate assist and a 9-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation. And to make sure you get home safe, the X-Terrain has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, with the help of Isuzu's Intelligent Driver Assistance System (IDAS*).

The Exterior

2024 X-Terrain is the top of the range D-MAX and it has the extra bells and whistles to prove it. A revised colour range, dark 18" alloy wheels and a gun-metal exterior trim is exclusive to the X-Terrain, ensuring that your D-MAX will stand out on the road.

LED Headlights With DRL

The X-Terrain is equipped with powerful and durable LED headlights for excellent visibility under all conditions. These are combined with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) for added safety whilst out on the open road.

Electric Windows & Mirrors

Electric windows are standard on the D-MAX, easy as that. As an added luxury, the exterior mirrors are also electrically adjustable from the cabin.

Blacked Out 18" Alloys

The X-Terrain is fitted with striking black 18" alloys, ensuring that your D-MAX turns heads wherever you stop. These are combined with Highway-Terrain (HT) tyres for solid road holding in all situations.

Redesigned Black Grille

Strong, bold and distinctive, the new X-Terrain's, matte black double grill features the Isuzu logo loud and proud.

The Interior

Isuzu is all about inclusion of features that are intuitive to use, easy to reach and have driver convenience in mind, always. The 2024 D-MAX is no different, thoughtfully designed to make the driver, and passengers life easier. It was also developed with Isuzu's "Hexa-Pod" concept in mind, a design philosophy that embodies being functional, relaxing and attractive. That doesn't sound too bad eh?

Design

When designing the interior of the all-new D-MAX the engineers were given a directive to use an airplane cockpit as inspiration. This means that control ergonomics, occupant comfort, material quality & durability, and driver visibility are key priorities. The team at Isuzu Utes nailed the brief, once you jump in the 2024 D-Max you will never want to leave.

Comfort

Sculpted sports seats featuring a foldable rear centre armrest. Wide front seat rails provide for large boots/feet to easily slip under the front seat for rear passengers. Entry and exit have been made easier thanks to large door openings. Double sealed doors and an excess of soundproofing make the D-MAX a peaceful and relaxing ride.

Multi-function steering wheel

The comfortable leather-bound steering wheel puts Bluetooth, audio and cruise controls at your fingertips so you can concentrate on the road ahead.

Enhanced Performance

2024 D-MAX incorporates Isuzu's signature 3L turbo-diesel engine as standard. This stems from almost 90 years of experience producing diesel engines, beginning way back in 1936 when developing Japan's first air-cooled automotive diesel engine. Constant technological improvements, innovations and in-depth experience across the production of more than 26 million diesel engines means Isuzu is an established global leader in developing capable and efficient engines for all kinds of applications.

Isuzu 4JJ3 3.0L Engine

The dependable 3.0L 4JJ3 turbo-diesel engine has been given a tickle-up and now produces even more power and torque. Revisions to the high-pressure injector system, electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger and engine internals result in an extra 10 kW of power, plus another 20 Nm of torque, all while maintaining class-leading dependability.

Terrain Command

On top of a 6 speed transmission, the Terrain Command dial in the Isuzu D-MAX 4x4 allows you to shift between 2WD and 4WD Hi mode on the move (up to 100km/h) for improved traction when driving conditions change.

3,500KG Towing Ability

Tow up to 3500kg*. Your search for the perfect travelling companion is over. Isuzu’s legendary 3-litre turbo diesel engine delivers high torque across the range, making light work of a caravan, boat, or trailer. Trailer Sway Control (TSC) assists with towing and will assist with towing in high winds or on uneven surfaces.

Off-Road Performance

The D-MAX's legendary go-anywhere ability has been further improved providing you a ute that is as at home up in the backcountry hills as it is out on SH1. Wading depth is 800mm for those extra deep crossings, whilst a rear differential lock is included for improved traction on slippery surfaces. For on-road excursions, there is a range of electronic driving aids to keep you on the straight and narrow.

Technology

The all-new D-MAX brings an entire new level of technology to the range. X-Terrain models include a large 9.0" touchscreen with a satellite navigation system. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto phone mirroring capability allows you to project sat nav directions, play music, make and receive calls and more. For the owner that spends plenty of time on the open road, the X-Terrain also includes adaptive cruise control which automatically adjusts your speed depending on the vehicle in front of you.
