Ventilated Front Seats
As well as the Kona climate control which manages the temperature throughout the interior, the driver and front passenger also have the added luxury of air-ventilated front seats. Fans under the seat cushions pump a gentle stream of cooling air to create exceptional seating comfort, especially when there is high humidity (Limited model only).
Heated Seats
In cold weather, the front seats can be heated at three different levels on the Kona Elite & N Line. For Kona Limited customers this goes one step further with the addition of heated rear outer seats with two different heating levels.

Heads-Up Display (HUD)
The HUD system on Limited models cleverly allows you to stay looking at the road ahead by projecting key driving information onto the windscreen. As well as showing information like speed, navigation directions and what radio station you're listening to, the HUD system will also project alerts, such as a Lane Keep Assist (LKA) or Blind-spot Collision Avoidance (BCA) assist.

Smart Cruise Control (SCC)
Cruise control that not only maintains a speed, but also slows and even stops to meet a pre-set distance to the car in front.
Forward Collision-Avoidance (FCA)
Maintain a safe stopping distance with cars, bikes and pedestrians. First a warning will be sounded followed by braking intervention.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).
When driving at a speed of 30km/h or higher, the BCA function will alert the driver to vehicles that enter the blind-spot and will even provide intervention if required.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Having the right tyre pressure is more than just good for your tyres and fuel economy – it’s a safety issue too. The Kona’s Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) displays the pressure for each individual tyre on the instrument cluster, warning the driver if pressure drops.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
In an emergency manoeuvre, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) helps keep you on track, while Hyundai’s Traction Control System (TCS) monitors your grip, reducing wheel spin so that you can accelerate on slippery or uneven road surfaces.
High Beam Assist (HBA)
LED high beams and low beams automatically adjust to meet the needs of the environment and surrounds. (Limited model.)
Safe Exit Assist (SEA)
Safe Exit Assist blocks attempts to disengage the child safety lock and prevents the rear door from opening when it is unsafe to do so.
Front & Rear Park Assist
The Kona thinks of everything. To help with parking in tight spots, four ultrasonic sensors at the front (Limited only) and rear of the Kona are automatically activated when you select reverse, giving an audible warning if and where objects are detected.
Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
A driver protection feature which helps monitor driving patterns in order to detect reckless or fatigued driving and prevent potential accidents. The system analyses various vehicle signals such as steering angle, steering torque, vehicle's positioning in the lane and driving time. If the system detects inattentive driving patterns, an audible and visual alert on the display panel will bring this to the driver’s attention.
Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) with Lane Following Assist (LFA)
LKA/LFA keep you safely centered within the lane using its front view camera to monitor lane markers. On detecting an unintentional lane departure, a warning is triggered and, if necessary, LKA will automatically provide corrective steering input to keep you within the lane.
Hyundai Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS)
The usage of advanced high-strength steel alloy has been expanded to 51 percent of the body structure. To attain unprecedented levels of structural rigidity, critical components were fabricated using advanced hot stamping technology.

1.6L Turbo GDI Engine
For performance that’s more exhilarating, this direct-injected turbo engine generates 146 kW of power at 6,000 RPM and 265 Nm of torque at 1,600 – 4,500 RPM. Having All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) helps it to maintain exceptional grip and dynamic handling even on challenging road surfaces.
2.0L MPI Engine
The quick-shifting automatic wet-type 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (N DCT) also lets you select gears manually for when you crave more race car energy.
Hyundai Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT)
Kona 2.0 MPi variants are fitted with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that features Hyundai’s latest SmartStream Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) technologies. The transmission features 8 simulated gear ratios (with sequential manual mode) to provide an easy and familiar driving experience, whilst a chain belt-type design is used to eliminate slippage and improve efficiency.
7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission
With Hyundai’s state-of-the-art seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) system on the 1.6 Turbo GDi, you can enjoy quick and responsive gear changes. The DCT also helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to conventional transmissions, as well as improving performance.
All-Wheel-Drive (AWD)
Standard on the 1.6 turbo N Line, this clever system ensures that the Kona stays in 2WD mode for maximum fuel economy during normal driving. When it needs to, the system will automatically switch to AWD mode, splitting power to the front & rear wheels. You can also engage permanent AWD on the go for especially slippery surfaces. Told you it was clever.

Kona N Line maximizes the sporty factor with an appearance package that really stands out . Both the front and rear ends get the special N Line makeover as do the 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and side cladding. The cabin abounds with N Line exclusive touches to tell the world that this is no ordinary Kona .
The powerful 1.6L T-GDI engine offers 146kW and 265Nm of torque, providing a thrilling experience whilst out on the open road. N Line specific front bumper with grille
The front end of Kona N Line is characterised by the dynamic features of the front bumper, connected and unified with the body colour treatment of the wheel arch claddings. The N Line features a characteristic N-style aerodynamic lip with low-lying corner fins for a road-hugging appearance. A larger air intake is further distinguished by a unique mesh design and surface treatment.
N Line specific rear bumper with twin tip muffler
The rear end completes the dynamic and emotional image of Kona N Line. The rear bumper incorporates a large central aerodynamic diffusor in a contrasting colour to the body, as well as a one-side double muffler. At the rear corners, the bumper fascia is formed with sharply-creased lines and N-style fins for better airflow detachment.
N Line specific side sill moulding
On the side, the body colour claddings and new rocker panel are complemented by the dedicated 18-inch alloy wheel design.
